Former Buffalo Bill Harrison Phillips brought his Harrison’s Playmakers organization to Jamestown over the weekend for the inaugural Winter Games at the Northwest Arena.

Five school districts and Erie-2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES were represented by 160 athletes accompanied by their paraprofessionals and teachers along with 40 student athletes from Jamestown High School’s track and football teams who served as station leaders and assistants.

The event’s signature sponsor, Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union, was represented by CEO John Felton. Other sponsors and volunteers include Teena Overbeck Chau, Jim Casini, Sgt. Dylan Anthony and Sgt. Richard Langer from the Army National Guard Jamestown and numerous police officers from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the Jamestown Police Department. Also attending were County Executive PJ Wendel, Mayor Kim Eklund, Christine McAllister from U.S. Rep. Nick Langworthy’s office, and Jamestown City Council members Brent Sheldon and William Reynolds.

Maple Grove High School students captured more than three hours of films and interviews while Keith Martin and his staff helped prepare the ice arena for the event.
