‘Suspicious Noises’ By Falconer Schools Unfounded

Ellicott police

FALCONER — A report of “suspicious noises” outside Falconer Middle-High School put the building into a brief “shelter in place” Wednesday morning.

It was later determined that the noises were “unfounded,” the Falconer Central School District said in a message to parents and later posted to its website.

According to Det. Kevin Pierce of the Ellicott Police Department, a staff member at the East Avenue middle-high school heard what sounded like three gunshots outside the building. Officers were alerted to the noises around 7:30 a.m.

Pierce and other officers went to the school and “checked the surrounding area and didn’t find anything credible,” he said.

The middle-high school was in a shelter in place for about 30 minutes, Pierce said.

In its message, Falconer Central School said there was a thorough inspection of the property with the assistance of Ellicott police.

Starting at $3.50/week.
