City Man Charged After Search Turns Up Drugs

A city man was arraigned on several charges after drugs and a “cane sword” were found during a search of a residence early Tuesday.

Taken into custody was Ronald C. Bartlett, the Jamestown Police Department announced in a statement.

Members of the Jamestown Metro and Southern Tier Regional drug task forces executed a search warrant around 6 a.m. at 102 Sampson St. in an upper apartment. Bartlett was located inside, along with a “quantity of heroin, 11.9 ounces of methamphetamine, scales, packaging materials, and a cane sword,” JPD said.

Bartlett was arraigned in Jamestown City Court on charges of second- and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Officers were assisted Tuesday morning by members of the city’s SWAT Team, Ellicott Police Department, Sheriff’s Office K-9, Jamestown Fire Department and Chautauqua County EMS.
