City Hall in Jamestown will look a little more festive next week.

Jamestown Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department crews will be harvesting a 40-foot-tall White Spruce on Monday for delivery downtown. The tree is being donated by the Carl and Donna Mazzurco family.

Members of the parks department will begin harvesting the tree at its current Cole Avenue location at about 9 a.m. With the help of the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities, the tree will be loaded onto a truck donated by Lake Shore Paving for delivery to Tracy Plaza at City Hall.

The BPU crane will raise and hold the tree in place while it is secured in preparation for decorating with nearly 4,000 energy saving LED lights by parks staff members. The White Spruce will tower approximately 40 feet above its base on Tracy Plaza.

The ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree will be announced at a later date.
