Investigators Probing Cause Of Willard Street Extension Fire

Falconer firefighters responded to a fire at 2218.5 Willard Street Extension in the town of Ellicott early Tuesday morning. Firefighters from Falconer, Ellicott police and other mutual aid departments responded to the scene at 3:51 a.m. Tuesday. The structure included a house, detached garage, and shed. The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested for an origin and cause fire investigation. Currently, the investigation is ongoing.

Forest Rangers Found Missing Cassadaga Teens

Two teens who were reported missing for a short time last week were camping at the time. According to a release from the state DEC, Forest Ranger Sonja Hale responded to a call for two missing teenagers at 1:20 p.m. June 19 after they had left a Cassadaga residence June 18 at 10 p.m. with tents and backpacks but not their cell phones. Hale and Ranger Nicholas Streczywilk set up an Incident Command and divided 25 searchers into three teams.
