New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Amanda Lefton and State Department of Health (DOH) Commissioner Dr. James McDonald are issuing an Air Quality Health Advisory for fine particulate matter on Sunday for the Western New York, Eastern Lake Ontario, and Adirondack regions due to the impact of smoke from wildfires in Canada. In these regions, there is the potential for visible smoke and hazy skies and New Yorkers may see temporary spikes in smoke-related pollution. The pollutant of concern is Fine Particulate Matter. City Man Sentenced In Child Porn Case

A Jamestown man has received a 30-year prison sentence for producing child pornography. U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced Friday that Roberto Millan, 36, also was sentenced to 20 years supervised release by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara. Assistant U.S. Attorney Maeve E. Huggins, who handled the case, stated that between Dec. 28, 2021, and Feb. 8, 2022, Millan engaged in sexually graphic conversations with a 15-year-old victim over TextNow, a mobile phone application. A Jamestown woman has been sentenced after being convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, 40 grams or more of fentanyl. U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced Thursday that Holly Berenguer, 43, was sentenced to time serve and four years’ supervised release by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara. Kiantone Woman Charged After Scuffle, Spitting At Business

A Kiantone woman is facing charges after allegedly losing her temper at a Jamestown business. Jamestown police report Racheal L. Waldron, 32, was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, DWI, two counts of felony aggravated DWI Leandra's Law and second-degree harassment after an incident at 11:05 p.m. Sunday. Officers responded to the southside business for a reported fight. A subsequent investigation determined that Waldron attempted to place an order as the business was closing.
