Gov. Kathy Hochul, with the New York State Department of Conservation, Friday announced a drought watch has been issued for 20 New York counties, including Chautauqua County. Jamestown Man Pleads Guilty For Selling Fentanyl

A Jamestown man has pleaded guilty for selling fentanyl in the city. U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that 48-year-old Joseph Thayer pleaded guilty to narcotics conspiracy, which carries a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Joshua A. Violanti and Louis A. Testani, who are handling the case, stated that Thayer conspired with his roommate, Justin Yuchnitz, to sell heroin and fentanyl supplied by Jaquez Thomas. Eight people face charges after drug raids on East Eighth and Baker streets on Thursday. On Thursday at 1:36 p.m., simultaneous search warrants were executed at 221 E. 8th St., upper garage apartment and apartment 3, and at 47.5 Baker Street.
