LAKEWOOD – A fire Tuesday night in the village is being considered accidental in nature.

At about 6:45 p.m. the Lakewood Fire Department, along with mutual aid, responded to 9 Alto Way for a residential structure fire.

Once the fire was extinguished, Lakewood requested the Sheriff’s Fire Investigation Team to assist in determining the origin and cause of the fire. Following the investigation, it was determined that the fire originated outside of the residence due to improperly discarded smoking material.

No injuries were reported.
