Thrown Meth Leads To Drug Charge In Ripley
RIPLEY — A pair of individuals have been charged after a suspicious vehicle complaint on Friday.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division investigated the vehicle that was stopped on Noble Road at 1:19 p.m. While pulling the vehicle over, investigators observed the passenger throw out an object into the grass.
The object was located and subsequently found to contain Methamphetamine. A further search of the vehicle revealed additional Methamphetamine. Kathryn Burnett, 39, was found to be in possession of a total of 22 grams of Methamphetamine and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. William Burch, 35, the operator, was issued a traffic ticket for second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and released. Burnett was taken into custody and arraigned in Centralized Arraignment and will answer charges in Ripley later.
