A community effort helped police identify a Falconer man who reportedly left tires at a common dumping site in the city.

Blaydon Niles, 32, is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court on a littering prohibited charge.

Officers were notified Sept. 11 of an illegal dumping on Pratt Avenue. In a news release, JPD said video footage showed a man who had been driving a maroon colored pickup truck rolling tires down the hill on Pratt.

Niles was identified due to the “assistance of several citizens.” The Falconer man was eventually located by the department’s detective bureau.

“JPD would like to thank the members of the community who assisted to help solve this crime,” the department said.

Pratt Avenue has been a common site for illegal dumping.
