Stabbing incident sends 1 to hospital
DUNKIRK — A stabbing victim was airlifted to a nearby hospital after being located in the city of Dunkirk.
According to scanner reports, around 5:05 a.m. Dunkirk police, along with city firefighters and Chautauqua County EMS, were called to an address in the 100 block of Lake Shore Drive West around 5:05 a.m. Tuesday.
“It (stabbing) did not occur here in the city. The victim was located here,” said Police Chief David Ortolano Tuesday. “It is being handled by the Sheriff’s Office.”
First responders were alerted to a “possible stabbing,” according to county dispatch audio, but later confirmed that a victim had suffered “multiple stab wounds.”
That person was taken to the helipad before being transferred to an Erie, Pa., hospital.
