Jamestown has a new mayor and president of the council.

On Wednesday, Eddie Sundquist was sworn in as the 25th mayor of the “Pearl City” during an inauguration ceremony held at the Scharmann Theater at Jamestown Community College. Sundquist is replacing former Mayor Sam Teresi, who served the city for 20 years.

Also during the ceremony, Anthony Dolce, Ward 2 councilman, was elected president of the Jamestown City Council. Following the November election, Republicans gained the majority of the nine-member group, which led to the election of Dolce, a Republican who is starting his 25th year as a member of the council.
