In a story that appeared in The Sunday Post-Journal regarding Bob and Kathy Barber, a Jamestown couple who have traveled the world, they say Vietnamese view the U.S. more positively now as a counterbalance to China, which they view as a threat. Additionally, the aborigines painting originally described in the article as being from China is from Australia.

Correction

The name of a band that will perform Saturday at the Bemus Point Block Party was incorrectly named in Tuesday’s edition of The Post-Journal. Uptown Fever will provide music.

Clarification

SHERMAN PROPERTY One of the photos of Sherman properties that the village is working to improve, seen in a story on Page B-1 in The Sunday Post-Journal, is a Sherman property that the current owner is in the midst of rehabilitating from the condition left by the previous homeowner. The homeowner said the work is ongoing. There are no sanitary or structural issues pertaining to the property.

Community College Funding The April 21 article, “JCC: More County Funding Is Needed,” on a funding proposal to the Chautauqua County Legislature’s audit and control committee by Jamestown Community College president Daniel DeMarte and vice president of administration Michael Martello, erroneously reported Jamestown Community College’s budget as $50 million. JCC’s current budget is just over $33 million. Correction: Village of Celoron

An incorrect phone number for the village of Celoron was given Friday in a story about Easter celebrations. On Saturday, April 20, the village of Celoron will host its annual egg hunt at Lucille Ball Memorial Park. Registration for bikes and other prizes begins at 9 a.m. The hunt begins at 10 a.m. Hunting areas will be available for children ages 1 to 3, 4 to 6, 7 to 9 and 10 to 12.
