Community College Funding
The April 21 article, “JCC: More County Funding Is Needed,” on a funding proposal to the Chautauqua County Legislature’s audit and control committee by Jamestown Community College president Daniel DeMarte and vice president of administration Michael Martello, erroneously reported Jamestown Community College’s budget as $50 million. JCC’s current budget is just over $33 million. In addition, Dr. DeMarte indicated that while JCC’s USA Scholarship program has been highly successful for 40 years, JCC must be creative in developing new scholarship opportunities.
