This year’s regional summit for the Student Veterans of America organization was held in Pittsburgh in late July. JCC representative Daniel Gonzalez attended the summit, which featured representatives from colleges and universities across the northeastern part of the nation. Gonzalez is the current president of the local veterans club at Jamestown Community College and also the Student Veterans of America chapter president. Part of the mission of the summits is for schools to come together and identify issues that prevent veterans from accessing their GI Bill benefits and removing those obstacles through proposed legislation.
