Reg Lenna To Screen Liza Minnelli Documentary
A Liza Minnelli documentary will take center stage today at the Reg Lenna Center for The Arts.
Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story will be screened at 7 p.m. today at the Reg. The film brings into focus the dazzling, complex period of Liza Minnelli’s life starting in the 1970s, just after the tragic death of her mother Judy Garland, as she confronts a range of personal and professional challenges on the way to becoming a bona fide legend. With insightful participation from a coterie of colleagues, along with the revelatory participation by the star herself, the film illuminates the contradiction of Liza Minnelli: her privilege and struggle, strength and vulnerability, unreal expectations and towering talent – the friction of which fueled her stunning rise, resilience and her enduring place as one of the greatest, most original performers in the history of entertainment. Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story is unrated and is 104 minutes long.
Upcoming Movies at The Reg include Barbie Ferreira and John Leguizamo in the comedy-drama Bob Trevino Likes It (April 30 at 7 p.m.), Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd in the horror-comedy Death of a Unicorn (May 2 at 7 p.m.), Steve Coogan in the comedy-drama The Penguin Lessons (May 7 at 7 p.m.), Naomi Watts with Bill Murray in the comedy-drama The Friend (May 9 at 7 p.m.), and The Luckiest Man in America (May 14 at 7 p.m.) a dramatic retelling of the 1984 Press Your Luck game show scandal.
