City Man Charged After South Side Raid

A Jamestown man faces drug and child endangerment charges after a search warrant was served at 388 S. Main St., lower apartment, at 5:48 a.m. Friday.

Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force agents executed the search warrant with assistance from the Jamestown Police Department SWAT Team. Salvatore Russo, 56, of Jamestown and two children were reportedly located inside of the residence by the SWAT team. After the residence was secured, detectives searched the residence and located a quantity of crack cocaine, digital scales and measuring cups police allege was used to mix narcotics.

Russo was taken to the city jail on charges of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and two counts of endangering the welfare of child.

The Jamestown Police Department was assisted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Ellicott Police Department, Chautauqua county Emergency Services Tac Meds and the Jamestown Fire Department.
