Bemus Point Elementary Celebrates Sundae Fun Day

Bemus Point Elementary students had a sundae fun day, turning Principal Sonja DuBois and social studies teacher Scott Cummings into ice cream sundaes — covering them with ice cream and topping them off with sauces, whipped cream, sprinkles, and cherries. Students celebrated their reading accomplishments, organized by the Parent Teacher Association through the “Parents as Reading Partners” program. Students were given pictures of mountains and encouraged to “climb their way to the top” by reading 300 minutes at home within three weeks and coloring in the mountains to track their reading progress. School officials said 107 students completed all three mountains before becoming dessert chefs and turning the principal and teacher into sundae delights. Submitted photos
