Ellington Library To Host ‘Take Your Child To The Library’ Events

ELLINGTON — The Ellington Farman Library is hosting National Take Your Child To The Library Day events on Saturday, Feb. 4, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In the library’s community room there will be simple a “Make Your Own Monster Valentine” craft activity. The group will be “cooking” up a little Pie in a Cup Recipe which families can enjoy making and eating together. The library’s Puppet Theatre, complete with a variety of puppets, will be making its debut. Go ahead and try out some of your best theatrical voices as you act out some stories of your own. The Makerspace will be open for to play with puzzles, games, Legos and other building blocks.

A trip to the library wouldn’t be complete without visiting the Children’s Room, which has more games, activities and a great big yellow chair where children and parents can curl up and read. The library has toddler board books for the very young, easy picture books and early literacy chapter books all located in the children’s room.

Also open are the library’s computer rooms for educational games such as ABC Mouse and Tumble EBooks for Kids. Special for Feb. 4 only, the library is giving out a limited number of “Love Your Library” drawstring bookbags to those who are visiting the library for the first time.

Located at 760 Thornton Road in Ellington, the Ellington Farman Library is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call the library at 716-287-2945. No registration needed but activity supplies are limited.
