Two Sentenced In Chaut. County Court

MAYVILLE — Chautauqua County District Attorney Jason Schmidt announced a pair of sentencings within the last week on Monday.

¯ Hashaun Leeper, 46 of Jamestown, was sentenced on Sept. 27 by Judge David W. Foley to an indeterminate term in state prison. Leeper will be required to serve a minimum of 1.5 years and a maximum of three years and being convicted of first-degree criminal contempt. This conviction is a result of two separate incidents, one in the city of Dunkirk and one in the city of Jamestown both in 2021. Schmidt would like to thank the Dunkirk Police Department and the Jamestown Police Department for its hard work on this case.

¯ Thomas Fafinski, 39 of Dunkirk, was sentenced Monday by Foley to an indeterminate term in state prison. Fafinski will be required to serve a minimum of 3.5 years and a maximum of seven years after being convicted of third-degree burglary. Fafinski was arrested after breaking in to the Dunkirk Motel in November 2021. Schmidt would like to thank the Dunkirk Police Department for its hard work on this case.

Both convictions were result of pleas by the defendants.
