Prevention Works To Hold Active Parenting Program

Prevention Works, formerly known as CASAC, is offering the “Active Parenting of Teens” in January and February.

Active Parenting of Teens is a comprehensive parenting program that helps parents of children between the ages of 5 and 12 raise responsible, cooperative children who are able to resist negative peer pressure and thrive. Parents learn positive, non-violent discipline techniques so they can avoid power struggles.

The program is offered free of charge through a grant from the United Way of Southern Chautauqua County and a partnership between Prevention Works and the Mental Health Association in Chautauqua County. The four, two-hour session parenting group will be held at the Mental Health Association, 31 Water St., Door 14, Suite 7, at the Gateway Center, Jamestown, from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 15, 22, 29, and Feb. 5, and 12.

Space is limited. To register, call Kathleen Colby, director of training services, at 664-3608 or email kjcolby@preventionworks.us
