Fluvanna Library To Hold Book Sale

The Fluvanna Free Library is hosting its annual book sale Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon-3 p.m. Sunday’s sale will offer a bag full of books for $5.

Hot dogs, potato chips and sodas will be available as well as a bake sale indoors. The library is located next to the Fluvanna Fire Hall at 3532 Fluvanna Ave.

“The annual book sale is a huge fundraiser for us, a small library within the Chautauqua-Cattauraugus Library system,” library director Lynn Grundstrom said. “It means so much to us, and we love to meet all the patrons and new faces who come to look at and buy the books.

“We have hundreds of books this year of many genres. All proceeds support library programs and services of the Fluvanna library.”

Every month, this “little” library is busy with activities for the neighborhood, including a reading program, adult book and lunch group, guest speakers and a daily welcoming of people and patrons for arts and crafts. Director Grundstrom hosts a Jeopardy game at the nearby Heritage Green for seniors every Thursday.

Lunch will be served beginning at 11 on Friday and Saturday, consisting of a hot dog, chips and a soft drink for $4. On Sunday, lunch will be served beginning at noon. There will also be a bake sale inside the main library.

All sale books are in good to excellent condition and both fiction and nonfiction. There are biographies, mysteries, histories and novels, all promising hours of reading enjoyment in the summer sun. There are children’s books and large print books as well; therefore, there are books for everyone. Prices for most hardcover books will be two for one dollar. Paperback books and children’s books will be five for a dollar. Like new hardcover books are priced at $1 each.

Contact the library at 487-1773 for further information.
