Humane Society Raises $22K Through 2019 ‘Pennies 4 Paws’ Campaign

The Chautauqua County Humane Society has raised more than $22,500 through its 2019 Pennies 4 Paws Campaign.

After setting a goal of $15,000, or 1.5 million pennies, CCHS announced that over $22,500 was raised through the 2019 Pennies 4 Paws Campaign which ran from February 12 through the end of April.

The money raised through Pennies 4 Paws is used to provide care for the animals at the Humane Society.

“We can’t thank the community enough for their support of the Pennies 4 Paws campaign,” said Brian Papalia, Chautauqua County Humane Society community relations director. “Individuals, school groups, businesses, so many people came together to show their love for the animals that are relying on them. Credit for the success of Pennies 4 Paws also goes to our partners in the fundraiser: Happy Hounds Hotel and Day Spa, The Media One Radio Group, The Shults Auto Group and Bayer Sorresto. ”

The top 10 fundraising organizations are:

¯ Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association — $1,600;

¯ Lakewood Apothecary — $493;

¯ Tree of Life Church — $450;

¯ Lutheran — $405;

¯ Randolph Elementary School — $351.73;

¯ Jamestown Business College — $300;

¯ Pikes’ Auto — $286;

¯ Northwest Bank (Foote Avenue) — $265.59;

¯ Ashville General Store — $232.91; and

¯ Northwest Bank (Fairmount Avenue) — 232.11.
