Presbyterians To Host Disaster Preparedness Training
RANDOLPH – New York state is working with the American Red Cross to help educate the community about disaster preparedness with the Red Cross Citizen Preparedness Course.
The purpose of this program is to strengthen the community’s resilience against disasters common in this area such as winter storms, flooding, home fires and industrial accidents. Educating individuals in how they can better prepare and respond to these types of events is important.
The course is completely free and open to the public and is scheduled for Saturday, April 2. Anyone who attends will get a free Red Cross Safety Kit which includes a mask, a whistle, a chem light stick, a water pouch and an emergency blanket. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. for registration with the course from 10-11 at the United Presbyterian Church, 186 Main St. in Randolph.
Reservations are encouraged. RSVP by calling the Jamestown Red Cross at 664-5115 or email jacob.kimball@redcross.org or the Randolph United Presbyterian Church at 358-4255.
