Dick O’ Dell And 23 Skidoo To Perform Thursday, Aug. 28, In Mayville

MAYVILLE – Dick O’Dell and 23 Skidoo will be the featured performers for the Thursday, Aug. 28, Entertainment in the Park concert performance. Held at Lakeside Park, Mayville, this performance will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

In the mid-1980s, five musicians, under the leadership of Dick O’Dell, combined their talents and formed the band 23 Skidoo. Their common goal was to preserve and promote America’s great swing era music of the Roaring ’20s through the 1940s. The name of the group, by the way, comes from the popular expression during the Roaring ’20s. Their repertoire of Big Band dance music, played with a Dixieland style, featuring popular favorites, sing-along, and novelty songs will appeal not only to traditional jazz enthusiasts but also those who enjoy music of the ’20s, ’30s and ’40s. Their musical sound combines the banjo, tuba, trumpet, clarinet and trombone to create their own unique style.

23 Skidoo has graced the Entertainment in the Park concert stage several times in the past at this annual summer concert series. This performance for all ages.

Attendees should remember to bring their own seating for the outside performances. In case of rain, the concert will be held at the Carlson Community Center also located at Lakeside Park, Mayville. A 50/50 drawing will also be held at this concert, with the winner announced just before the end of the performance.
