Ellington Town Picnic To Be Held Aug. 1-3 ELLINGTON - The 112th Ellington Town Picnic will be held on August 1-3. The picnic will start at 5 p.m. Friday featuring Happy Days at 7 p.m. The Ellington Fire Department will have a fire truck pull starting at 5 p.m. Events on Saturday commence at 9:30 a.m. with registration for the baby show. The Salvation Army Food Pantry has been hit hard this year with more and more people needing food and a shortage of money because of the Christmas Campaign, Feedmore’s loss of valuable USDA funding and the decrease of funding from local partners due to the fact there are more agencies requesting funding.
