I-86 Bridge Closures Start Tonight

The state Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the bridge carrying Interstate 86 over Chautauqua Lake between North Harmony and Ellery will be closed in both directions nightly between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Monday evening, Oct. 6, until Saturday morning, Oct. 11, to facilitate an ongoing rehabilitation project. Motorists should follow the posted detour utilizing Route 394 and Route 430.

Jamestown School Board To Meet Tuesday

The Jamestown Public Schools District Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Oct. 7. The meeting will be called to order in the boardroom of the administration building at 5:30 p.m. where a motion to hold an executive session will be heard. The Jefferson Middle School Journalism Club will then give a presentation to the board at 5:45 p.m. in the Jefferson auditorium. The regular session will begin at 6 p.m. in the Jefferson auditorium.

Library System Board Meeting Is Wednesday

The Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System board will meet at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the Holiday Valley Lodge in Ellicottville. The public is welcome to attend.

Bemus Point Historical Society Speaker Series Continues

BEMUS POINT – The Bemus Point Historical Society Guest Speaker Series continues Wednesday, Oct. 8, as Chautauqua County Historian Norman Carlson is welcomed to discuss historical Unusual Occurrences in Chautauqua County. The event is free and open to the public beginning at 7 p.m. at the Bemus Point Village Hall on Alburtus Avenue in Bemus Point.
