St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Thrift Shop Open Friday, Saturday
The St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Thrift Shop will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, Oct. 3, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4. The shop is stocked with new arrivals of fall quality clothing and housewares. All proceeds are used for outreach in the community.
Comedy Center To Host Memory Cafe Monday
The National Comedy Center will host its next Memory Cafe on Monday, Oct. 6. Reservations are encouraged by visiting ComedyCenter.org/MemoryCafe. Check-in and museum exploration begins at 10 a.m. and refreshments and a program begin at 11 a.m. There is no cost to attend. Memory Cafes are offered on the first Monday of each month, designed for individuals living with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other memory-related conditions–along with their caregivers, family members, and care partners.
Volleyball Teams To Host ‘Together We Fight’ Game
FALCONER – The Falconer Volleyball teams will host the fourth annual “Together We Fight” fundraiser game benefiting Lily’s Hope on Monday, Oct. 6, in the Falconer High School gym. Tickets for the basket giveaway will go on sale starting at 4:30 p.m. The junior varsity game against Olean will start at 5 p.m. and the varsity game will follow at 6:30 p.m. In addition to the basket giveaway there will be a bake sale and concessions. Over the past three years, the “Together We Fight” game has raised $4,500 for Lily’s Hope, located in UPMC Chautauqua. Bemus Point School Board To Meet Monday
BEMUS POINT – The Bemus Point Board of Education will meet Monday, Oct. 6, in the library at Maple Grove Jr/Sr High School, 3980 Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point. The board is expected to enter an executive session at 5:30 p.m. followed by the regular meeting at 6 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
Hazeltine Public Library Author Series Continues Monday
BUSTI – The Hazeltine Public Library will host Jason Bussman as the featured author on Monday, Oct. 6, at 6:30 p.m. Bussman, a former English teacher and now a writing instructor, has written about his experiences of being a dad. “Our popular author series continues with a returning author,” said Katie Smith, library director. “This is a great opportunity to meet a local author, hear about their writing adventure and get first hand information on the process.” The evenings begin at 6:30 p.m. on the library community building and are free and open to everyone. The library is located at 891 Busti-Sugar Grove Road. There is off-street parking and the building is accessible. More information is available by calling the library at 716-487-1281.
