Chautauqua’s Got Talent Contest Begins Season

Performing artists took to the stage at The Spire Theater on Monday to compete in Chautauqua’s Got Talent contest. The 11th season began with 25 qualifying contestants which included singers, instrumentalists, dancers, percussionists, and visual entertainment. Each contestant was given 90 seconds to perform to earn the audience vote to advance to the next round of the competition. Twenty-three contestants will be advancing to week two and will be given the chance to showcase their talents once again in the audience selected competition. NEW YORK (AP) — Clive Cussler, the million-selling adventure writer and real-life thrill-seeker who wove personal details and spectacular fantasies into his page-turning novels about underwater explorer Dirk Pitt, has died, his publisher said Wednesday.
