Old Timers sweep home doubleheader

The Jamestown Old Timers Baseball Club hosted the Salem AMVETS Saturday night and Sunday morning for a doubleheader at Diethrick Park in Jamestown. The Old Timers came out swinging and shutout the Salem team both games 11-0 and 16-0. In Game 1, the Old timers were led by Chris Yost and Wade Nelson, both going 3 for 4. ORCHARD PARK — Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association singles players went 2-5 while doubles teams went 1-4 at the Section VI Boys Tennis Championships, hosted last week by Orchard Park High School. Fredonia senior Jackson Spangler came the closest to qualifying for the state meet, reaching the semifinals in the singles bracket.
