MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Robert Calph earned his fourth Wednesday Travel League tour victory of the season after posting the low round of 78 at Whispering Pines.
Josh Hilliker finished second with 82 and Bill Emery was third with 87. Calph led the front nine with 38 while Calph, Hilliker, and Emery all shot 40s to lead the back nine. In winning in back-to-back weeks, Calph became the first golfer, other than Hilliker, to win consecutive events since Ed Tofil in September of 2025.
In the B Flight, Phil Hopkins was the winner. In the C Flight, Bob Kujawa won on a tiebreaker with Jim Ellman Sr. The low round by a senior was recorded by Joe Bifaro. The winner of the Bruce “Java” Chrabasz Commissioner’s Award was Steve Schrantz.
Untied birdies were recorded by: A Flight, Calph (Nos. 1, 13), Josh Hilliker (No. 4), Gary Haase (No. 8) and Emery (No. 14); B Flight, Bifaro (No. 3), Dave Wallace (No. 4), Mike Willoughby (Nos. 5, 11) and Hopkins (Nos. 6, 15); C Flight, Joe Majka (Nos. 2, 10), Kujawa (Nos. 5, 16, 18), Tim Walawender (No. 8), Pete Pinkoski (No. 11), Ellman (No. 14), and Brady Hilliker (No. 15).
Closest to the pin were Bob North (No. 2), Haase (No. 8, just 10 inches from the cup), Josh Hilliker (No. 11), and Walawender (No. 17). Winners of the steeplechase were Calph (A Flight), Bifaro (B), and Ellman (C).

Shots of the day: Hilliker drove the green on hole No. 4 from 288 yards out, over a pond and to an elevated green; and Gary Haase’s tee shot on the 168-yard par-3 eighth hole hit just two inches short of the cup and came to a stop only 10 inches away.
This week the league plays Shorewood Country Club with a 10 a.m. start. Golfers are asked to be signed up no later than noon Monday.
