To The Reader’s Forum: I contend that a “man of faith,” yes, even a pastor, Betty, is free to defend President Donald J Trump if he so chooses. Christians are not following Trump but are followers of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Pastor Mel is an intelligent man of high integrity. To The Reader’s Forum: I was delighted to read about the climate-change projects completed by Thomas Jefferson Middle School 7th graders. Congratulations to them and to their teacher in the AT science class. They combined art, communication, and interdisciplinary research and created a teaching and learning product to be proud of. To The Reader’s Forum: After 100 years of use, the brick streets in Jamestown need repairs. After five years, most paved streets in Jamestown need repairs. Why doesn’t the city repair the brick streets? I was talking to an engineer and he told me it’s not the brick but the ground settling under the pipes and utilities. I was also told that it is expensive to construct brick streets. Mel McGinnis in the Reader’s Forum on Wednesday (Jan. 29, 2020) because, as a man of faith, he defended Trump. I’m not upset that Hillary lost. I did vote, but not for Trump or Clinton.
