RIPLEY --- A Ripley resident escaped serious injury after being struck by a train Saturday evening. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies responded with the Ripley Fire Department and New York State Police to a reported train-versus-pedestrian incident around 9:20 p.m. It was reported the pedestrian attempted to cross the tracks before the train crossed which resulted in the pedestrian being struck. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Wilfredo Castrillo, 49, of Jamestown, was charged June 20 with second-degree burglary, aggravated criminal contempt, first-degree criminal contempt, and two counts of third-degree criminal tampering.
