Pets perish in morning Dunkirk fire DUNKIRK — Dunkirk firefighters battled a blaze Sunday morning on Lord Street where a number of pets perished. Officials say the Dunkirk Fire Department was dispatched to a report of smoke coming from a window at 106 Lord St. around 7:21 a.m. Upon arrival, crews found smoke and fire on the first floor in the rear of the home. Firefighters brought the fire under control using two hose lines and tools. The house suffered significant interior damage. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Noah DA. Smith, 19, of Jamestown, was charged Nov. 20 with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and having an outstanding arrest warrant. According to police, at about 4:30 a.m., officers responded to a city business for a reported trespass complaint. Officers arrived on scene to find Smith allegedly inside the business. Smith, police said, had an outstanding arrest warrant issued by Jamestown City Court, and was placed into custody without incident. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Alexis S. Wakefield, 25, of Jamestown was charged Nov. 16 with second-degree aggravated harassment, and first-degree criminal contempt. According to police, at about 8:17 a.m., officers responded to a westside residence for a reported violation of an active order of protection. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim and learned that Wakefield allegedly had threatened the victim, and violated an order of protection issued by Jamestown City Court. Man charged after use of shotgun in altercation SINCLAIRVILLE --- A village man is facing charges after discharging a shotgun during an altercation. Around 11:34 p.m. Saturday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police responded to an address on Main Street. Upon arrival, units learned that the male was identified as 28-year-old William F. Borkowski Jr. and had fled the scene. Murphy, 37, of Jamestown, was charged Nov. 10 with four counts of second-degree criminal contempt, second-degree criminal trespass, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. According to police, at 2:01 a.m., officers responded to a westside address for a reported domestic dispute. Through investigation, it was found that Murphy allegedly had violated four orders of protection, and also had an arrest warrant for violating the same four orders of protection. Two teens die in Allegany County crash WELLSVILLE -- Two teenagers died after an early morning crash on Tarantine Boulevard Saturday. At 2:24 a.m., State Police at Amity responded to a single vehicle collision. An investigation determined that a 2020 Buick Encore was traveling eastbound. The Buick exited the north shoulder of the road on a sharp curve striking a utility pole on the driver’s side. The Buick had a total of six teen occupants.
