Creche Gets Help From Friends With An Appeal To The Community
An appeal to the community has helped the Creche surpass Friends of Creche campaign goal.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Creche made more than 500 pediatric and adult masks to keep families visiting Jamestown Pediatrics safe during important doctor visits. Creche also supported UPMC Chautauqua with gifts of equipment, like a sensory bubble wall, clothing and supplies. Supplies included a sleep sack for every newborn to promote healthy back sleeping. Creche also gave safe “virtual hugs” by sewing receiving blankets for babies and comfort blankets for older children.
In 2020, Creche gave 19 families a Christmas filled with joy for every child. Gifts included socks, pajamas, clothing, coats, mittens, hats, toiletries and toys. Gift cards for a Christmas dinner were also provided. Throughout the year, Creche provided cribs, beds, mattresses, bedding, clothing and diapers to children in need, and gave support to local schools. During a normal year, Creche sends children from area schools to summer camp, but in 2020, gave direct support to the YMCA and YWCA day camp programs.
Creche is a 120-year-old volunteer organization, which means all of the money raised helps children. For more information, follow Creche on Facebook at Creche Jamestown, or send donations to The Creche Inc., PO Box 601, Jamestown, NY 14702-0601.
