Virginia C. Ciancio
Virginia C. Ciancio, 89, formerly of 349 Howard Ave. and 2 Rowley Court, died Wednesday Feb. 24, 2021, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing.
A livelong area resident, she was born Nov. 27, 1931, a daughter of the late Charles and Carmela Ricotta Calcesi.
She was a 1950 graduate of Jamestown High School, majoring in business and subsequently working in local insurance agencies Anderson-Winchester and Jamestown Mutual insurance. Later, Virginia worked as a bookkeeper for Carlson Pharmacy and Quality Markets Pharmacy for many years.
She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish, SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
She enjoyed music, decorating and going on vacation. She especially loved shopping and hunting for bargains.
The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Park for the wonderful and compassionate care they provided Virginia.
Surviving are her husband George Ciancio, whom she married Feb. 8, 1964; two sons Thomas (Karen Kamanski) Ciancio of Forestville and George (Elizabeth) Ciancio Jr. of Jamestown; a grand-daughter Madeline Ciancio of Jamestown and a sister Josephine Arnone of Greenhurst.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters Marian Barber and Rosemarie Szarka.
A walk through visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
