Charles R. Munson
Charles R. Munson, 86 of Stokesdale, N.C., passed away at his daughter’s home surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Corey Engebretson officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery with military honors. Social distancing guidelines will apply and face coverings are requested.
He was born to the late parents, Lyle Van Sile and Lottie Alvera Wells on Aug. 9, 1934 in Jamestown, N.Y. Charles served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed by Dewitt Concrete as a truck driver until he retired from Hardin Oil, Greensboro, N.C. in 1984.
He married the only love of his life in 1959, Patricia Ann Mead, who preceded him in death in 2017. Being a kind and dependable father was of the utmost importance to Charles and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family. Charles enjoyed working on cars, and his passion to go into the woods and cut down trees.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald L. Munson.
Charles will be forever remembered by his children; daughters, Debbie Hudson (John), Judy Huber. His sons, Rodney Munson and Daniel Munson. His grandchildren, Chad Ahlgren (Samantha), Jacob Hudson, Nathan Snyder (Kristian) and Bryan Baker (Tisha). His great-grandchildren, Ava and Luke Snyder and Landon and Isla Baker. His brother, Gordon R. Munson.
