Ruth C. McKinley

Ruth C. McKinley, 94, of Tanglewood Manor, formerly of Napoli, passed away July 7, 2020, in Heritage Park. She was born February 2, 1926, in Bonarp, Sweden, the daughter of the late Gustav H. And Alma J. Olson.

Mrs. McKinley was a 1944 graduate of Falconer High School. She worked during World War II as a secretary for the U.S. Department of the Navy in Washington, D.C. and then for the Jamestown Table Company. Ruth retired in 1984 from Randolph Central School as the payroll clerk and was also the secretary for school superintendent, Raymond Leahy. Following her retirement, she worked at the Little Valley Central School for two years.

She was a member of the Napoli United Methodist Church for over 60 years, where she was treasurer of the Memorial Fund and secretary and treasurer of the General Fund. She belonged to the Romana Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Randolph American Legion Unit 181 Auxiliary, Napoli Nymphs Red Hat Society, the Thule Lodge in Jamestown, and the Town of Poland Senior Citizens.

Surviving are a son, Bruce (Zoe) Fellows of Napoli; a daughter, Patricia (William) DeSalvo of Albuquerque, NM.; sister- in-law, Shirley (Frederic) Nagle of East Randolph; four granddaughters: Alma Fellows of Austin, Texas; Snoi (Kevin) Ackerman of Apex, N.C., Cristina (William) Stevenson of Decatur, Ga., and Jessica DeSalvo of Corrales, New Mexico; a great-granddaughter, Kylee Fellows-Green of Apex, N.C.; two great-grand- daughters: Anna and Charlotte and a great–grandson Henry of Decatur, Ga.; nieces: Sylvia (David) Covell and Shirley (Jerald) Green; nephew, Donald Crandall; and several great- nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband ,Harold J. Fellows, Jr., whom she married May 17, 1947; her second husband, George J. McKinley, whom she married May 3, 1975; a sister, Signe (Harold) Crandall; a brother, Arthur (Marjorie) Olson; and a brother- in-law, Douglas Fellows.

Arrangements are entrusted to the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, Randolph. A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced.
