The 13U Gladiators travel baseball team defeated the Lakeshore Lugnuts, 15-4, last week at Firemen’s Field in Lakewood. This was the first game of the delayed COVID-19 season. The Gladiators combined for 14 hits, highlighted by Michael Patric’s three hits and four RBIs and the pitching committee of Nash Luther, Mason Eckman, Baylor Hirliman and Tate Catanese, who combined on a five-hitter. “It was great to get out and play baseball. The mental, emotional and physical well being of the players, coaches and parents really needed this. At the end of the day, we didn’t care about the outcome. These young men just want to play ball,” Coach Troy Bouckhuyt said.
