BUD LIGHT MONDAY 5:40 LEAGUE
Ed and Steve Cramer dominated the ice during Week 2 for Fruit of the Brooms. They were a force to be reckoned with versus Gemstones 58-52 and Cold as Ice 43-33.
Shoeless Joe’s Pub was captained by Joe and Theresa Jackson against Kubota Krew 53-44 and Curling Cousins 48-30.
Dave Mazzone was a one-man show for Drunken Sliders. He carried them past Cold as Ice 44-39 and Kubota Krew 39-36.
Austin Mitchell, Kevin Anderson and TRCurlers responded nicely after a tough first week. They came out Monday on a warpath, knocking off Gren’s Growlers 48-34 and Jimmy Shimmey’s 35-31.
Vince Joy and Better Than Last Year topped Curling Hares in a 55-50 duel.
Hunter Whippo and The Rolling Stones led from start to finish with Curling Hares 50-37.
Jessica Franchina was recognized by Gren’s Growlers in their 47-40 win over Gemstones.
Tim Casey and Curling Hares pulled away from Curling Cousins down the stretch 49-37.
BUD LIGHT MONDAY
6:40 LEAGUE
Ice Holes put on a clinic starring Doug Nordwall and Jaime Glatz. A great balance of offense in defense resulted in victories against Bottomland Bandits 34-20 and War Vets 38-30.
Cliff Sleasman and Adolph Avery pulled off two close calls for Rand Machine. They escaped the clasps of Frosty Curlers 39-37 and Pickle Pushers 21-20 in dramatic fashion.
Dave and MaryBeth Southwick engineered a perfect night for Tree Huggers. They took down Rock Slide 35-24 and Sip n Sliders 28-25.
Nick Rein and Slice Mafia dug deep in the sixth end to finish off NAME 35-34.
Frosty Curlers closed the door on Rookies Mafia 43-36 with Doug Justham in charge.
Denton Holthouse and Bottomland Bandits clamped down on Curl Jam 29-25.
Sue Arnold and Curl Jam answered with a tough triumph over Rock Slide 39-37.
Stephanie Snow and Sip n Sliders held on at the last shot to outlast NAME 43-42.
Pickle Pushers shut down Stones 2.0 32-17 with Diana McKay at the helm.
BUD LIGHT MONDAY
7:40 LEAGUE
Home Despots are the lone unbeaten after just two weeks. Brian Rovegno and Todd Singleton kept the streak alive by holding off Frozen Assets 17-15 and Lakeshore Paving 34-27.
Lakeshore East cruised to an easy night out thanks to Don Liden and Mike Peterson. They had no problems with Rock Sliders 38-26 and Las Rocas Grandes 37-18.
Grace Lillie, Dan Cottle and Chillbillies found a groove on Monday night by ambushing Rock Sliders 26-23 and Las Rocas Grandes 42-36.
Chris Filkins and Frozen Assets split the night with a 32-25 conquest of Stark Gravel.
Zach Liden and Stark Gravel survived a late push from Lakeshore Paving 30-28.
RAVEN & RUNE TAVERN WEDNESDAY 5:30 LEAGUE
Todd Frangione and Adam Irgang flexed their muscles for Legion of Brooms in the waxing of 12 Ounce Curls 45-27 and GWS 47-31.
Mark Melquist and Geriatric Curlers started off by topping Knuckle Draggers 44-38. That was followed by Gary Dove calling game in OT in the highest-scoring affair in backyard curling league (6-End) history versus We’ve Got the Stones 65-63.
Nate Ford carried J-1 Auto to a perfect night against Slone Melhuish 45-32 and 12 Ounce Curls 50-41.
Mike Latone Jr. and Chris Maggio led the attack as Head For the Mountains held off Ice Holers 34-28 and Had a Few 46-38.
We Love Beer was on the right side of two thrilling finishes with We’ve Got the Stones 50-48 and Ice Holers 35-34 thanks to Justin Kell and Laura Ahl.
Mike Youngberg also cemented his name in the record books on Wednesday night. He led the offensive attack for Had a Few in their matchup with Stone Cold Maidens 67-46 to put his team near the top of the most points scored by a team in the history of backyard curling.
Nancy Tuccio and Stone Cold Maidens collected themselves defensively to beat MARKSMEN 35-33.
Mark Wilcox and MARKSMEN countered that with a 51-45 win over GWS.
RAVEN & RUNE TAVERN WEDNESDAY 6:30 LEAGUE
Glen Wilcock and Cindy Panebianco looked like a well-oiled machine for Perfect Stones in their contests with Ice Ice Baby 42-29 and Curls Gone Wild 38-30.
Nick Kahanic acquired two more in the win column for The Brush Offs. They cruised by Nuttin Buttons 36-22 and In the House 36-25.
Kari Degnan flipped the script for Stuart Tool & Die after a tough first week as she came up key in big moments versus Curling Me Softly 47-41 and The Ice Men 28-23.
Steve Ryberg read the ice well in a 34-27 Curls Gone Wild victory over Team No Name.
Jim Panebianco and In the House also defeated Team No Name 33-26 adding insult to injury.
Paul Gustafson navigated The Ice Men in their 32-29 conquest of Got Stones.
Adam Paterniti and Got Stones disarmed the Smokin Rocks offense 25-16.
Shane Rhodes and Nuttin Buttons used a late surge to get by Margarita Madness 29-25.
Sue Comella and Margarita Madness went back and forth with Curling Me Softly before coming out on top 39-37.
Val Sutton and Ice Ice Baby sang goodnight to 12 Oz. Curlers 36-24.
Justin Swanson and 12 Oz. Curlers bounced back in a defensive struggle with Smokin Rocks 27-22.
RAVEN & RUNE TAVERN WEDNESDAY 7:30 LEAGUE
Stones & Cones are the only unblemished unit standing with Eric and Jen Scolton at the helm. The offense was in a rhythmic state in their victories over On The Rocks 56-49 and Hillbilly Sliders 44-37.
Darren and Daniele Anderson picked up two massive wins for Barney’s Hoof Trimming against Sub Zero 47-31 and Six Stones & a Stick 27-25.
HCH Interiors came out battle scarred in a pair of slugfests. After a last-gasp triumph versus Flintstones 34-33, Sharon Currie sealed the deal in OT to write off Axiom 24-21.
Danielle Cederquist did the heavy lifting for Haggy’s 4 Below to take down Rock Blockers 47-39 and Axiom 36-30.
Gordon and Kathy Hallquist had QUEST in a brand new state in the second week. They put the finishing touches on Rock Blockers 42-29 and Hit n Miss 30-23 to climb the standings.
On The Rocks defeated Hit n Miss 39-32 with Michelle King drilling multiple bullseyes.
Marty Richau and Flintstones stifled Sheet Faced down the stretch 27-21.
Rebecca Martin, making her backyard curling debut, became the hero for Six Stones & a Stick versus Sheet Faced 49-46.
Randy Lord and Hillibilly Sliders utilized a hot start to slide by Sub Zero 28-25.
RYAN DEPPAS/LEGEND GROUP FRIDAY 4:30 LEAGUE
Tracy’s Dog remains the only team unblemished in the Friday “Happy Hour” league as Bob Paterniti put on his cape and carried his team to two close victories over Cold Beer Here 53-51 and Curl Jam 36-32.
Two Curls & A Cup got back to their winning ways with two wins over Sweeping Beauties 51-35 and Ba Na Ma Na 45-43 as they were led by Lauren Lapinski.
Several teams went 1-1 on the week, as it looks to be a very balanced league this time around.
Curl Jam knocked off Frost Bitten Twice Shy 50-33 as Kenny Kaltenbach rang the buzzer for Curl Jam all night long.
Cold Beer Here had a nail-biter as they topped Snow Good at This 56-54 behind strong play from Steve Tanner.
Sweeping Beauties were carried by Kathy Ludwig, a day after her 82nd birthday, with a dominating performance to beat Curlews 47-32.
Curlews started out their night with a 37-26 win over the Bemus Sliders as Jeff Johnson showed off his fancy stickwork.
The Bemus Boulders squeaked by Lions & Bears 44-43 behind strong play from Peter Sullivan.
Greg Wefing showed up in many ways to push the Bemus Sliders to victory over Lions & Bears 49-33.
Ba Na Ma Na had an instant classic against Snow Good at This as Nancy Welker secured the 52-51 win in overtime.
