Jamestown Boys Falter In The Fourth Quarter Against St. Joe’s
BUFFALO — The Jamestown boys basketball team was eight minutes away from opening the 2025-26 season with a victory, but the fourth quarter proved to be its undoing.
St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute outscored the Red & Green 13-5 to rally for a 48-44 nonleague win at Daemen University.
Gary Alexander IV scored 23 points, and JJ Shanklin and Jahzi Lanzot added 11 apiece to pace the Marauders (1-0).
For Jamestown (0-1), which led 39-33 heading into the fourth quarter, Elijah Farmer and Dom Gonzalez both scored 16 points.
Farmer also grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked three shots and Karson Milne hauled in eight boards, but Jamestown struggled from the field, shooting just 15 of 48, including 4 of 20 from the arc. St. Joe’s, meanwhile, connected on 15 of 39 shots from the floor.
The Red & Green won’t be back in action until Dec. 17 when they entertain Canisius at McElrath Gymnasium. Opening tip is 6 p.m.
