SKF, Southern Tier Lead Battle Of The Businesses
The 36th annual YMCA Battle of the Businesses, sponsored by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of WNY, Greater Chautauqua Federal Credit Union and Eventz by Scott, hosted nine-hole golf and bowling Sunday.
SKF tops the Large Division with 530 points, while Southern Tier Brewing/Distilling Company is the leader in the Small Division with 330 points.
The Resource Team of Chris Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Austin Mitchell and Ned Battle won the men’s golf in the Large Division with a score of 30 to beat Cummins (30) at Maplehurst Country Club. UPMC Chautauqua (31) took third place.
For the women’s large division golf event, Chautauqua County Government’s team of Jane Benson, Alison Espin, Casey Hennessey and Sharoyn Ruby shot a 34 to top second-place finisher Falconer (35). Bush Furniture came in third place with a 37.
In the Small Division, JBA’s foursome of James Benning, Rick Goodell, Grace Hanlon and Marlene Sirianno took the first place spot with a 32. Rand Machine (33) and Southern Tier Brewing/Distilling Company (35) took second and third place respectively.
The SKF men’s bowling team and repetitive winners of Brandon Miller, John Williams, Jr., Brent Miller and Ryan Colburn rolled a 2,483 three-game series at Jamestown Bowling Company to gain the Large Division top 100 points.
Monofrax (2,384) and Cummins (2,180) bowled for second and third place respectively.
The Cummins team of Pam Exley, Jen Haskins, Nichol Haskins and Stephanie Tompkins rolled a 1,833 pin count for the Large Division women’s win. Frewsburg (1,410) and SKF (1,392) scored second and third place.
Jon Brunco, Brandi Colley, Nikk Holland and Lauren Wakelee of Southern Tier Brewing/Distilling posted a 1,944 series for the Small Division to earn the 100 points. Fancher Chair Company (1,718) and JMI (1,703) followed with the next winning points.
The Battle of the Businesses continues today with the Large Division volleyball at 6 p.m. at the Jamestown YMCA.
