Lewis Has Big Day For Frewsburg

FREWSBURG — Trent Lewis went 3 for 4 with a double, four RBIs and three runs scored as Frewsburg topped Westfield 18-1 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 baseball Thursday at the Robert H. Jackson Sports Complex.

Harrison Eckert went 3 for 3 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored; Daniel Peterson tripled, drove in three runs and scored a run; Chase Haglund was 2 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored; and Garrett Brink was 2 for 4 with two RBIs for the Bears (18-0, 12-0), who led 12-0 after two innings.

Haglund threw four innings of two-hit ball with nine strikeouts before Aidan Gruber struck out the final three hitters.

Danny Bratton and Mason Baum each had a hit for the Wolverines (1-9, 1-9).

McCALL SHINES ON SENIOR DAY

BEMUS POINT — Kolden McCall threw a four-hitter with 16 strikeouts and also went 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs as Maple Grove beat Clymer/Sherman/Panama 7-1 in Division 2 action on Senior Day for the Red Dragons.

Drew Oste, Camden Lombardo, Zach Cornell and Kyle Yohe each added a hit for the Red Dragons (9-6, 7-5), who took over the game with a three-run fifth inning and a three-run sixth inning.

Tate Catanese struck out seven in the complete-game loss for the Wolfpack (8-4, 8-3). Catanese also had two hits, while Kaden Beckerink and Andrew Spiesman each added one.

HENRY IN CONTROL OF SHORTENED GAME

MAYVILLE — Nate Henry threw two-hit ball over five innings and Chautauqua Lake scratched out a pair of runs to beat Silver Creek/Forestville 2-0 in five innings of nonleague action.

Nolan Olson drove in a run in the first inning on a sacrifice fly and Devin Hewes drove in a run on an error in the third inning for the Eagles (7-11). Connor Nowicki, Henry and Cordell Rivera each added a single.

Manny Sanchez doubled and Hunter Parks singled for the Black Knights (5-10). Thomas Hogg struck out six on the mound.
