State champion Moravia of Section IV finished atop Class C with a 23-3 record, Frewsburg’s Far West Regional opponent Dundee/Bradford of Section V was No. 4 with a 23-2 record, Randolph (15-7) ranked No. 13, Ellicottville (14-9) finished No. 20 and Holland (16-6) was No. 22.

The Southwestern (18-8) girls were next highest, finishing fourth in the Class B state rankings after falling to Section II’s Albany Academy for Girls (22-4) in the semifinals. State champion Utica Notre Dame (24-3) finished atop the rankings, Southwestern’s Far West Regional opponent Hornell (21-4) of Section V finished No. 5, Portville (17-7) ranked No. 11, Wilson (19-4) at No. 20 and Salamanca (17-5) took No. 23.

The Salamanca (20-6) boys finished just outside the top four at No. 5 in the Class B rankings, while state champion Stillwater (27-1) of Section II finished on top. The Warriors’ Far West Regional opponent Avon (22-2) of Section V finished No. 6, Newfane (20-3) was No. 6, Fredonia (15-7) No. 17 and Akron (18-4) at No. 20.

Jamestown (21-4) was the only local team to lose to the eventual state champion, however the Red & Green finished No. 15 in the Class AA rankings. Elmont Memorial (23-4) finished highest among public schools as the state champion, but in the overall rankings took No. 8 as Epic South finished at No. 1 out of the Public School Athletic League in New York City.

Jamestown’s Far West Regional opponent Victor (16-9) finished at No. 18, crossover opponent Health Sciences (20-4) ended at No. 17 and Orchard Park (17-5) No. 30.

The Panama (10-13) girls reached the Far West Regional and finished below .500, but still received a top 10 ranking at No. 8 in Class D. Section X’s Hammond (23-3) repeated as state champion and took the top spot, Panama’s Far West Regional opponent Elba (21-5) finished No. 4, Sherman (16-6) ranked No. 13 and Clymer (17-4) ended at No. 15.

The Randolph (21-3) boys reached the Class C Far West Regional again, but this time fell to Section V’s Lyons (23-3) and in the final ranking the Cardinals were slotted No. 11. Lyons lost in the state semifinals and finished No. 3 and state champion Moravia (23-3) of Section IV finished at No. 1.

Westfield (20-3) finished just behind Randolph at No. 12, while Panama (20-3) ranked No. 15.

Pine Valley (11-12) also reached the Far West Regional as the Section VI champion, however the Panthers were left off the final Class D rankings receiving just an Honorable Mention. State champion North Warren (22-4) of Section II finished atop the ranks and the Panthers’ Far West Regional opponent Avoca/Prattsburgh (14-10) ranked No. 3.

Rounding out the rest of the rankings, Section II’s Glens Falls (27-0) took the top spot in Class A boys, while Section VI’s Williamsville South (16-9) ended at No. 9. The first Class AAA boys ranking ended with Long Island Lutheran (21-4) of the Association of Independent Schools at No. 1, state champion Green Tech (20-6) of Section II finished No. 4 and Section VI’s Niagara Falls (16-7) ended at No. 18.

In Class AAA for girls, Long Island Lutheran (21-1) again took the top spot, while state champion Our Lady of Lourdes (25-1) of Section IX finished at No. 4. Section VI’s Lancaster (18-5) ended the year at No. 13.

Class AA ended with state champion Albertus Magnus (24-4) of Section I on top as Section VI’s Starpoint (21-2) finished at No. 6. In Class A, Dalton School (26-0) of AIS was No. 1 with state champion Catholic Central (25-1) of Section II at No. 2 and Section VI’s Lewiston-Porter (21-4) at No. 7.
