The Jamestown girls basketball team fell to Orchard Park 68-43 in an Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 game at McElrath Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

Halle Senfield paced the Quakers with 21 points, and Lainey Babich and Maggie Gocella added 12 apiece.

The Quakers led 35-13 at halftime, but Red & Green coach Ken Ricker saw some encouraging performances from his young team, particularly after intermission.

Anna Engquist posted a double-double, collecting 11 points — all in the second half — to go along with 10 rebounds; and eighth-grader Aiyanna Stam had a career-high 9 points and 10 boards, also in the second half. Alyson Canfield paced Jamestown in scoring with 16 points to go along with seven rebounds and four steals.

SALAMANCA SINKS FREDONIA

SALAMANCA — Lezly McComber scored a game-high 18 points to lead Salamanca past Fredonia 46-37 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 West girls basketball action.

Karina Crouse added another 17 points for the Warriors in the league win.

Fredonia was paced by Ashlynn Delcamp with 10 points.
