Randolph Outscores Gowanda 20-4 In 3rd En Route To 65-43 Victory

RANDOLPH — Gowanda kept up with the Randolph Cardinals for one half of boys basketball action on Wednesday, but a 20-4 third quarter by the Cardinals led to a 65-43 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 East final for the top Class C squad in Section VI.

Randolph (15-1, 9-0) posted consecutive wins after losing its first game this weekend, with Drew Hind leading the way against Gowanda with 16 points, four assists, three steals and three rebounds. Roan Kelly added another 15 points and seven rebounds, while Cooper Freeman dished five assists with three steals and four rebounds and Kevin McElwain had five steals.

Gowanda (7-8, 3-6) was led by Quentin Centner with 19 points and Trelin Warrior added 14.

PANAMA POWERS PAST BROCTON

BROCTON — Bryce Hinsdale scored 18 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished five assists and grabbed two steals as Panama powered past Brocton 77-32 in Division 2 West.

Carter Brink led Panama (13-2, 6-2) in scoring with 20 points and had four assists, Brandon Keefe scored 11 points, made three assists and had two steals, Jordan Mescall had 10 points, four boards and two assists and Michael Horton scored 11 with two assists. Around the basket, Alex Barmore made seven boards and two blocks, Tate Catanese collected nine rebounds and Andrew Spiesman had five rebounds for the Panthers.

Brocton (6-11, 1-8) was led by Jeremy Weisner with a team-high 7 points.

RANDOLPH — Drews Hind scored 23 points, dished six assists and had four steals as the Cardinals downed Cassadaga Valley 81-50 in Division 1 East play on Tuesday.

Roan Kelly added 16 points, four assists and three steals for the Cardinals, while Braden Brooks had 14 points and two steals, Baker Huntington had four steals and two assists and Cooper Freeman had four assists.

Ace Pierce led Cassadaga Valley (2-13, 1-8) with 19 points and Hunter Johnson added 13.
