Cougars’ Anderson Pours In 41; Clymer’s Neckers Reaches 1,000 Points For Career

FALCONER — In the first game after reaching the 1,000-point threshold, Emiley Anderson again stole the spotlight for Cassadaga Valley.

Anderson poured in 41 points as the Cougars rolled past Falconer 57-42 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 East action Friday.

Anderson did most of the scoring for the Cougars (8-5, 2-2), but Hailey Anderson added 8 more points in the victory.

On the other end of the floor, Falconer (4-10, 1-4) received some big support from Augustine Krenzer and Kamryn Harper posting double-doubles. Krenzer led the Golden Falcons with 14 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals. Harper scored 13 and hauled in 11 boards, and both Kenley Lincoln and Ashley Smith dished out two assists.

SILVER CREEK — Claire Price scored 10 points as Maple Grove edged Silver Creek 35-24 in Division 2 West play.

Rebekka Roberts added another 9 points in the winning effort for the Red Dragons (7-5, 3-4).

Silver Creek (4-9, 0-7) was led in scoring by Khloe Karnes with 7 points.

NECKERS REACHES MILESTONE

MAYVILLE — Alexys Neckers scored 13 of her game-high 23 points in the first quarter and surpassed the 1,000-point milestone for her career to lead Clymer to a 66-24 victory over Chautauqua Lake in a Division 2 West game.

Neckers also collected eight rebounds, five assists and three steals to help the Pirates improve to 12-2 overall and 7-0 in the division.

“Neckers is not only a top-notch basketball player, but she’s also a top-notch individual,” Chautauqua Lake coach Mike Putney said. “I’ve never seen anyone so humble. Hat’s off to the program and everything she represents. What a special night for her.”

The Eagles led 29-7 after the first eight minutes and 41-13 at halftime.

Ava Nyweide added 16 points, six rebounds and two steals; Elli Bodamer contributed 12 points, seven rebounds and three steals; and Janelle Burchanowski chipped in 9 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.

For Chautauqua Lake (2-11, 1-5), Taylor Donato and Eden Ludwig scored 6 points apiece.

Ashlynn Delcamp added 13 points and 13 rebounds for the Hillbillies (7-5, 2-2), who led 32-17 at halftime and 53-25 after three quarters.

Amy Campbell and Anna Bates scored 13 points apiece for the Huskies (0-14, 0-5).

Emma Rhinehart added 12 points, four steals and three assists, while Ashley Carls had five rebounds for Portville (9-3, 2-2).

CeCe John led Gowanda (2-11, 0-4) with 13 points.

SOUTHWESTERN PREVAILS

SALAMANCA — Reece Beaver scored 25 points and Bella Sirianni added 15 to lead Southwestern to a 60-46 victory over Salamanca in a Division 1 West game.

The Trojans (7-6, 4-0) trailed 29-27 at halftime, but outscored the Warriors (11-3, 3-1) 33-17 after the break.

Beaver also collected seven assists, five rebounds and two steals, while Sirianni added four rebounds, four steals and three assists. Lauren Cotter chipped in 8 points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists; and Braya Beaver had 5 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Karina Crouse led Salamanca with 15 points, Bella Wolfe and Keianna John both had 8.
