Cassadaga Valley Girls Get Past Clymer 58-57

CLYMER — The Cassadaga Valley girls basketball team used a second half push to get past Clymer 58-57 in nonleague action on Friday night.

Emiley Anderson led the Cougars (5-2) with 22 points and three rebounds, while Breonna Hopkins posted a double-double with 18 points, 12 boards, three assists and a block, Hailey Anderson grabbed 12 rebounds and five steals, and Payton Meder dished three assists and made two blocks.

Clymer (6-1, 3-0 CCAA D2 West) was led by the trio of Alexys Neckers, Ava Nyweide and Janelle Burchanowski. Neckers scored 17 points, grabbed eight rebounds, seven assists, five steals and two blocks; Nyweide scored 16, made six boards and two assists; Burchanowski made five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Elli Bodamer added five boards and three steals, and Natalie White collected six boards.

CLARENCE — Emily Glaude scored 19 points to lead Clarence past Jamestown 75-45 in Erie County Interscholastic Conference 1 action.

Ella Corry added 18 points and Julia Chiaino scored 10 for the Red Devils (5-2, 3-1).

Jamestown (3-4, 0-2) was led by Alyson Canfield with 15 points.

CARDS FALL ON THE ROAD

LANCASTER — Sadie Steward scored 16 points, grabbed nine rebounds and made three steals, but Randolph still came up short to St. Marys of Lancaster 73-53 in nonleague action.

St. Marys (3-1) was led by Emily McDonald with 21 points and Kierra Kline added 16 more in the victory.

Randolph (4-3, 2-0 CCAA D1 East) received support from Skylar Herington scoring 13 points and four rebounds, Quinn Pence grabbed five boards, made five assists and three steals, and Zoelle Dickerson made five rebounds.
