Local soccer players Kaylyn Carnes, right, and Emma Malmstrom Jouannet, left, were a part of the FC Erie team which won the GPA NPL league in Canton, Ohio, at the beginning of June. After a 5-1 victory vs. Westside Stars in the semifinals, the team advanced to play the finals vs. Club Ohio East. FC Erie won that game 4-0. The team is now advancing to the National Premier League Finals in Denver, Colorado in July. They will meet teams from Ohio, Texas and Minnesota in group play. FC Erie is the merge of Erie Admirals and MSA.
