FALCONER — Led by a triple win by Michael Butterfield, and double wins from Declan Kennedy and Nate Lewis, the Southwestern boys claimed the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 track & field championship following a 96-45 victory over Falconer/Cassadaga Valley at Bill Race Field on Tuesday.

It’s become a habit for the Trojans.

In fact, Southwestern has now claimed six straight league titles and has run its dual-meet winning streak to 40 straight. It was truly a team effort yesterday.

Butterfield won the 100 meters (10.8), the 200 meters (22.7) and the 400 meters (53-5); Kennedy claimed the 110-meter high hurdles (15.9) and the 400-meter hurdles (59.0; and Lewis captured the 3,200 meters (11:28.1) and the 1,600 meters (4:45.4).

Jase Smith doubled for the Golden Cougars in the triple jump (40-6) and the long jump (19-9.5).

RANDOLPH — Gavin Stearns and Jaiden Huntington were double winners for Randolph in a 105-35 defeat of Maple Grove.

Stearns captured the 100 meters (11.5) and high jump (6-0) while Huntington claimed the shot put (47-2) and discus (145-4.5) for the Cardinals.

Jonah Foley took the long jump (20-1) and triple jump (41-4.5) for the Red Dragons.
